One small message can make it difficult for your new customer or user.
Navigational Content, Auto Messages and Microcopy are as important as the Technology Architecture or Design System.
I noticed a few apps and experiences generating auto or social sharing messages post using the service. Now, typically, they’ll be in the region of ‘this is so easy,’ or ‘it’s as easy as,’ or ‘I did this so easily, now you can too.’ All this may be fine and harmless except when it comes to communicating with users who are interacting with your product or service for the first time and especially if they are not digital native users navigating their way in the digital multiverse which is getting more and more difficult for them day by day in terms of discovery and usability. Messages like these can make some people think ‘they could do it so easily, but why can’t I do this’. Ultimately, this can be a factor for 'User Churn.'
So, when we create, design, write or code something for a bigger universe, we should take into consideration these tiny things that may have a major impact. Definitely test, review, iterate and find best ways to make the experience inclusive. Navigational content, auto messages and microcopy are as important as the technology architecture or design system. Think about your future users.
